Not So Much Joy This Season On Beacon Hill: The Short List

Our look at the week's news starts with some of the work done by the Massachusetts Cannabis Control Commission. The panel is charged with developing regulations for the state's marijuana industry, and began the process of setting policy, which could allow for cannabis cafes, and even home delivery.

On Beacon Hill, Acting Senate President Harriette Chandlercanceled the chamber's holiday party, saying it would not be appropriate this year -- perhaps a reaction to the scandal surrounding Amherst Democrat Stan Rosenberg and his husband, Bryon Hefner.

And in Berkshire County, the conversation continues about a proposal that would create a single county school district.Area schools are dealing with fewer students, more expenses and a sagging overall population.

We wrap with alawsuit being brought against Massachusetts by 13 states, led by Indiana. There's concern that a voter-approved law set to take effect in 2022 could make it harder for out-of-state farmers to sell eggs and meat in the Bay State.
