The University of Vermont’s men’s basketball team is set to face Florida State University in the first round of the NCAA March Madness tournament. The Catamounts are set to tip off at 2 p.m. Thursday at the XL Center in Hartford, Connecticut.

The Catamounts (27-6) beat the University of Maryland Baltimore County 66-49 inthe America East title match Saturday, at home in the Patrick Gym. According to UVM Athletics, that win clinched the seventh conference title for the UVM men's basketball team.

Since Thursday's game is being played in Connecticut, UVM Athletics spokesperson Nich Hall said the school expects to see a strong turnout.

“We're expecting to see a lot of green and gold in the stands, and I think that will absolutely give our players a boost on Thursday,” Hall said.

According to UVM's website, tickets for Thursday's game are already sold out — however the game will be broadcast live on TBS.

UVM is a 13-seed in the tournament, pitting them as the underdog against 4-seed Florida State. Before Thursday's match up, there will be a pre-game pep rally at Hartford’s minor league baseball stadium, Dunkin' Donuts Park.
