As a journalistic organization, New England Public Media takes seriously its obligations and responsibilities to avoid conflicts of interest — or even the appearance of them.
As such, we want to be transparent about our funding sources. While a large portion of our revenue comes from listeners and viewers, we also receive support from local businesses who sponsor our programming, and other organizations who provide grants to support our operations.
Sponsors and funders play no role in our newsroom decision-making. Our reporters and hosts decide which stories to cover and who to interview based on journalistic best practices and their intimate knowledge of our region. But in the interest of transparency, we provide on-air disclosures of those funding relationships and list them on our website.
