Steven Sussman

Tom Reney pays memorial tribute to Charles Neville on this edition of Jazz Beat.

Neville was the saxophone-playing member of the world-renowned Neville Brothers, New Orleans’ first family of funk. But as a longtime resident of western Massachusetts, he was also a local hero who was a ubiquitous presence on area bandstands for over twenty years, and an artist who made significant contributions to the cultural vitality of the region.

The podcast features cuts by Charles, as well as Larry Williams, Bobby Marchan, and the Neville Brothers.
