The city of Worcester says it’s received more than 25 complaints in the past several weeks about local businesses and their customers not following COVID-19 protocols.
Amanda Wilson, the director of health inspections for the city, said her office has been alerted to problems at a wide variety of businesses including restaurants, "barbershops, hair salons, spas, dentist offices with too many people, [and] offices with people not having masks in elevators," she said.
Wilson said she has been conducting surprise inspections and has found violations. She said she's been reinforcing the rules, but hasn't had to issue any fines so far.
In a COVID-19 update Thursday, the city of Worcester said its coronavirus numbers show a positive trend and it’s important to avoid the backward slide in cases seen in many other states.
