Amherst College Department of Music presents the Guarrine/Knapp Duo
The Amherst College Department of Music presents the Guarrine/Knapp Duo featuring Lemuel Gurtowsky on Friday, September 8, at 7 p.m. in Buckley Recital Hall in the Arms Music Center at Amherst College. The concert is FREE and open to the public; seating is by general admission.
The Guarrine/Knapp Duo is Jamie-Rose Guarrine, soprano and Karl Knapp, cello. They are joined for this recital by pianist Lemuel Gurtowsky. The repertoire consists of new and established compositions for soprano and cello by Scott Gendel, Gregory Brown, and Amy Beach, along with Bach Solo Cello Suite No. 3.
Dr. Jamie-Rose Guarrine is frequently seen in concert, opera, as a collaborator at chamber music festivals, and in recital, and serves as Associate Professor of Voice at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Dr. Karl Knapp is cello instructor at Amherst College and performs internationally in a variety of styles. Lemuel Gurtowsky is an active collaborative pianist throughout the Pioneer Valley and is on faculty at Smith College.
