Words in Transit
Not in production
Words in Transit is an oral history project featuring the stories of people who have made western New England their new home.
This area is home to immigrants and refugees from around the globe, and their presence revitalizes the region and redefines its culture. Their journeys have involved fear, uprootedness, and isolation as well as perseverance, creativity, and hope.
New England Public Media, in collaboration with Copeland Colloquium at Amherst College, produced Words in Transit, featuring the personal stories of nearly 30 people.
