Alice Dugan has been an oil painter for 30 years, both in the United States and Costa Rica. As a visual artist, she has always been fascinated by the way light and color affect mood. She was mentored by several Impressionist/Realist painters and was able to pursue her passion for painting full-time 25 years ago in Costa Rica. Her work has been shown in solo and group exhibitions in Costa Rica, California, and North Carolina. Her favorite themes are orchids, waterscapes, and still life. Four years ago, she moved to a small town in New York state and pursued her other passion: making colorful clay objects through her appreciation of the tactile quality of clay, and love of hand-glazing and painting her pieces.
