Buckland Historical Society Open Houses

The Wilder Homestead is open to tour the furnished 1775 saltbox home with five fireplaces.

In the 1779 English barn will be a weaving demonstration done on an antique barn loom. Come see how a rag rug was made in the 18th century.
The circa 1820 shoemaker shop where boots could be bartered for with bushels of apples, cords of wood, or in one case, the work of digging a grave, will be open.

The Buckland Historical Society Museum is also open - a former schoolhouse which now houses three floors of artifacts and town records. Come see our new exhibit on The Caged Man of Buckland, The Life of Josiah Spaulding.
