David Kim Leads The Four Seasons
David Kim Leads The Four Seasons
The Philadelphia Orchestra concertmaster and violinist David Kim takes center stage as both leader and soloist in a performance celebrating SPAC’s 60th anniversary theme, Seasons. Featuring beloved and highly recognizable works from the classical repertoire, this program promises to captivate orchestra fans and newcomers alike.
Opening the program is Bach’s serene and timeless Air, from Orchestral Suite No. 3, one of Bach’s most famous movements. It’s followed by Mozart’s bright and lyrical Eine kleine Nachtmusik, the composer’s best-known serenade and one of the most-performed pieces in classical music. Anchoring the program is a paired performance of two iconic works: Vivaldi’s pastoral The Four Seasons and the SPAC premiere of Piazzolla’s tango-and-jazz-influenced The Four Seasons of Buenos Aires.
The Philadelphia Orchestra at SPAC returns for a three-week summer residency from August 5–22 as part of SPAC’s celebratory 60th anniversary season.
