Faces of Grief

Faces of Grief

Grief is one of the most profound emotions people grapple with, often leaving us at a loss for words and uncertain, and the stigma attached to grief can be stifling and isolating. Many of us instinctively avoid the topic, changing the subject as soon as it arises. But what if we could transform that discomfort into a powerful dialogue?

On view through Friday, February 6, 2026, the Cooley Dickinson Hospital partnered with Springfield Technical Community College for a unique photography exhibit, “Faces of Grief,” in which STCC fine arts students worked closely with grieving individuals and families from both organizations throughout the fall semester.

The resulting 26 photographic portraits, along with poems and essays, will be on display at the Amy H. Carberry Fine Arts Gallery on the Springfield Technical Community College campus.

A public reception will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
