Film maker Kimi Takesue profiles the life of her grandfather, Tom Takesue, a 95 year old Japanese- American living in Hawaii. Tom displays filmmaking aspirations when he becomes invested in rewriting a fictional love story that his visiting granddaughter is developing. His surprising script-doctoring reveals larger concerns about love, loss, unrealized dreams, and mortality in this poignant and humorous family portrait.
