We're thrilled to spend another sweet crafternoon—on Valentine's Day!—in the High Five Books studio with you and local booktok creator Sara Cochran of Sara's Bookish Macarons! Sara is known across social media for her stunningly hand-painted, book-inspired macarons.
On Saturday, February 14, 2-4pm, Sara will share some of her secrets and tools for baking and decorating gorgeously detailed macarons, plus share some of her favorite romantasy reads of the year. Each participant will decorate and bring home six of their own custom Valentine-themed confections, perfect for gifting.
Ages 11+: Tweens, teens, and grownups encouraged! $30/ participant.
Allergen note: Macarons contain almonds, eggs, and dairy.
This Valentine’s Day, give the most precious gift of all: your loving attention and calm presence.
In this heart-opening two-hour Restorative Contact workshop, you and your partner will be gently guided through a mindful touch practice that nurtures connection, trust, and intimacy. We will work slowly, with care and respect for our body as well as our partner's, as we learn to listen through the skin. Using light compression, we’ll discover new points of connection, finding places to rest, breathe, and relax together. Touch has profound effects on emotional, physical, and cognitive wellbeing, increasing the “happy hormones” dopamine and serotonin, as well as oxytocin, the “love hormone” that deepens bonds.
This workshop is non-sexual and open to all couples—romantic or platonic—seeking to deepen their connection through physical touch and mindful attention. It is accessible to students who can be on the ground for extended periods of time, however, many adaptations can be offered and the practice uses supportive props for comfort. No prior movement or meditation required. If you have questions about whether this practice is right for you, please reach out to Gabrielle at info@restorativecontact.com.
