Homecoming is a transformative musical experience that explores the profound ties between Africa and its far-reaching diasporas. Both symbolic and sonic, the project centers on “return”—the spiritual, cultural, and historical journey of rhythms, melodies, and improvisational languages that traveled from West Africa to the Caribbean and the Americas, evolving into jazz, highlife, Afrobeat, and Afro-Latin traditions. The musicians will perform original compositions as well as standard repertoire from Ghanaian High Life and Afro Caribbean music.
