Tenebrae
Tenebrae
The Cathedral of St. Michael the Archangel invites everyone to its annual Tenebrae service, on March 29, Good Friday, starting at 7:30pm. This solemn service takes us on a journey through Lent, until the death of Jesus Christ, through readings, hymns, and choral anthems, sung by the Cathedral Choir and accompanied by string quartet, which includes members of the Springfield Symphony Orchestra.
There is no admission charge, though a freewill donation to the choir may be offered at the conclusion of the service. All donations will go toward advancing the educational aspect of the choir, which includes an in-depth introduction to music theory to the children of the choir.
Any questions may be directed to the Assistant to the Music Director, Jacob Broer, at j.broer@diospringfield.org.
