What happens when a Troupe of proud and pugnacious Fairies encounter a party of patronizing Parliamentary Peers? The answer—complete chaos! This is the community of players in place at the beginning of Iolanthe, the 7th and, some would argue, the greatest operetta from the collaboration of William Gilbert and Sir Arthur Sullivan. The opera premiered in 1882 and immediately became a favorite of Savoyards and Londoners. Valley Light Opera is bringing new life to this wonderful operetta with an array of beautiful voices, lively dancing, glorious costumes, and a healthy helping of humor.
