The Friends of the Westfield Athenaeum is seeking donations of gently used adult and children’s books, DVDs, and jigsaw puzzles for their upcoming book sale. Donations will only be accepted by curbside drop-off at the back door of the First United Methodist Church, 16 Court St., Westfield, during the weeks of April 6-11 and April 13-18 as follows: Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 10-1; Tuesday and Thursday from 4-7, and Saturday from 9-12.
Please note that we cannot accept musty or damaged books, encyclopedias, dictionaries, textbooks, Reader’s Digest books, or outdated manuals, travel books, or self-help books.

River Valley Counseling Center (RVCC), a member of ServiceNet, will hold its 11th Annual Golf Tournament on Friday, Sept. 18, at East Mountain Country Club in Westfield, and the stakes are more than a good round of golf.

The cost per golfer is $125 and includes golf cart rental, lunch, dinner, and prizes. There will also be a raffle and contests on the course. Registration will begin at 9 a.m., followed by a 10 a.m. “shotgun start,” meaning all groups will tee off simultaneously. Sponsorship opportunities are available.

All proceeds will directly support RVCC’s youth mental health programs, including the Children’s Behavioral Health Initiative (CBHI) and School-Based Outpatient Therapy Services. Both programs are designed to meet young people where they are, sending therapists into homes and placing them inside local schools so that more families can get the support they need. For many children and teens, these programs are the difference between getting help or going without.

A little about us ...
Christina's House is a faith-based transitional home and educational program. Our mission is to educate, embrace, and encourage women and children who are homeless or near homeless through the love of Jesus Christ. Our vision is to provide the selected mothers and their children with life skills needed to become self-sufficient as they transition from homelessness to stable environments. What we do: The women in our homes work with several volunteers, staff, and professionals who help them reach their occupational, educational, and interpersonal goals.

Funds raised during this event will go towards paying the Christina's House mortgage, heat, utilities, restoration and updates, lawncare, snow removal, emergencies, food, bedding, water, gifts, staffing, contractors, housing needs, office supplies, technology, events, and much MUCH more.
