Age of Nature

Watch & Learn with New England Public Media: A Sneak Peek of PBS’s The Age of Nature and Live Conversation with Regional Environmental Experts

Presented in Partnership with The Nature Conservancy and Springfield Science Museum

The Age of Nature is one of the most highly anticipated PBS programs this fall, in which scientists and conservationists from all over the world examine ways we can restore our planet. The Nature Conservancy is an important voice in the program.

The Nature Conservancy and Springfield Museums, plus The Trustees of Reservations, the Connecticut River Conservancy, US Fisheries and Wildlife and other local environmental advocacy groups join the discussion.

The webinar, moderated by Deb Markowitz, Director of The Nature Conservancy in Massachusetts includes  Alison Bowden, Conservation Director of Rivers, Coasts and Lands for The Nature Conservancy in Massachusetts; Andrew Fisk, Executive Director of the Connecticut River Conservancy; and U.S Fish and Wildlife’s Dave Sagan as panelists.

Local migratory fish life cycles, population, and migration patterns are changing. Hydropower dams on the Connecticut River are being re-regulated, and non-functioning dams are being removed. Watch to learn more.

The Age of Nature aired on NEPM TV Wednesdays, Oct. 14–28 at 10 p.m.
