Born in Mexico City and currently based out of New York, Magos Herrera is best known for her eloquent vocal improvisation which embraces elements of contemporary jazz with Ibero-American melodies. She is also a United Nation's spokesperson for UN Women UNITE, a program promoting the elimination of violence against women. At 3 p.m., Magos celebrates women in music with Latin American classics and originals including pieces by Violeta Parra, songs inspired by Alfonsina Storni, and more. Then, 9 p.m. concert will revisit her discography including jazz classics, jewels from the Latin American songbook, and originals.
