New England Public Media, the New Alliance of NEPR and WGBY, to Host a Jazz Era Holiday Party

Jazz, Baby! returns to the Hotel Northampton on Saturday, December 7 with live music, cocktail party fare, stylish drinks, and a few surprises.

Springfield, Mass. (November 25, 2019) -- Calling all sharpshooters and floorflushers! New England Public Media presents, Jazz, Baby! Saturday, December 7 at The Hotel Northampton. Come swing to Kellso's Hot Six in the 1920s style jazz club, enjoy the sultry sounds of The O-Tones Duo in the Coolidge Cafe, or sneak away to the speakeasy to foxtrot to StompBoxTrio , the music and dancing goes 'til the wee hours. It’s an opportunity to dress to the nines, hob nob with guests, and dance the night away.

This festive evening takes over three distinct event spaces at the Hotel Northampton for an immersive experience full of 1920s era glamour, from the subterranean speakeasy to the swanky jazz club, and is packed with fun surprises! Guests can catch a show by the Berkshire's own Gypsy Layne Cabaret & Co., sidle up to the bar for a signature cocktail from Headwater Cider , take a photograph on a 1920s-inspired set with Sloan Tomlinson Photographer to the Stars, do a bit of shopping at the Sassy Pants Vintage pop-up shop, and more.

Jazz Baby! will be held at the Hotel Northampton, 36 King St, Northampton, MA on Saturday, December 7 from 8 to 11:30 p.m. Tickets are $125 for general admission and $75 for guests under 40. The $1000 VIP package comes with reserved seating for 4 and champagne service. Tickets are available at nepr.net/jazzbaby .

"I love seeing the community come together for this annual holiday celebration featuring vintage jazz of the Jazz Age," said Tom Reney, host of NEPR's Jazz a la Mode. "And no one plays it better than Kellso's Hot Six. Jon-Erik Kellso has been renowned for 20 years as one of the greatest living exponents of classic jazz and swing, a player often called upon by Wynton Marsalis for his brilliance and expertise. And Kellso is a bandleader who knows just how to pace a show so the dance floor is always packed. Can't wait!"

Jazz, Baby! is hosted by New England Public Media, the new alliance of NEPR and WGBY, and benefits public radio and television in western New England. For New England Public Media President Martin Miller, the night is about community: “ Jazz Baby! offers a way to go out on the town and share a fun evening with great music. We're excited to have two favorite local bands, The O-Tones Duo and StompBoxTrio with us for the evening, too."

Jazz Baby! is presented by Florence Savings Bank and sponsored by River Valley Co-op . Special thanks to The Hotel Northampton, Flowers, Flowers!, Castle Architectural Salvage, Laudable Productions, Lindy League of Western Massachusetts, Sassy Pants Vintage, Sloan Norris Tomlinson Photography, and Headwater Cider Company.
