Massachusetts U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren.

As she looks to her 2018 re-election campaign, Massachusetts U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren is touting her efforts on behalf of the western part of the state.

Warren is a regular these days on national TV and radio shows with most of her public appearances in Massachusetts in the eastern part of the state. Asked if she feels she's been in western Mass. enough, she did not directly answer the question.

"Oh, I love being out in the western part of the state," Warren said. "The most fun is to come out to the western part of the state just to see how beautiful it is, to come to the art museums, to visit all the great places out there."

But Warren also said it's important western Massachusetts is included in statewide plans for infrastructure and education, and gets its fair share of government resources. She said she's doing her best to make that happen.

So far, the only Republican to take steps toward challenging Warren is state Representative Geoff Diehl, who's formed an exploratory committee.
