  • Despite pleas from lawmakers and other officials,  Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker chooses a Supreme Judicial Court candidate from the Boston Area. This would leave the high court without a justice from western Massachusetts. (NEPR)
  • More than 200 unionized nurses at Baystate Franklin Medical Center held a one-day strike, and were locked out for two additional days amid a contract dispute. (Gazette)
