On Tuesday, voters in Holyoke, Massachusetts, will narrow the field of candidates for mayor.
The incumbent, Alex Morse, faces three challengers on the ballot: Jay Ferreira, a former city councilor; Michael Thomas Siciliano, a contractor; and Paul Bowes, who's run unsuccessfully in the past for city council and for mayor.
Because there are more than two candidates, the city must hold a preliminary election. The top two vote-getters will face off in November.
City Clerk Brenna Murphy McGee expects that most voters will sit this one out.
"We're expecting about a 24 percent turnout," she said. "In November, we'll probably be about 45 to 50 percent, I would guess."
Morse leads the pack in terms of fundraising. He's pulled in almost $63,000 this year, while the three other candidates have raised less than $5,000 between them.
