Massachusetts House Speaker Robert DeLeo is not weighing in on whether Amherst Democrat Stan Rosenberg should be able to regain the Senate presidency, or stay in the Senate at all.
Asked about Rosenberg's future at an event in Holyoke Thursday, DeLeo said that's up to Rosenberg's Senate colleagues and his constituents.
“Whether [lawmakers] wish to return anyone to the Senate… I think that relies strictly on how the Senate feels,” Rosenberg said.
Rosenberg stepped down as Senate president last year to allow the ethics committee to investigate allegation against his husband, Bryon Hefner.
The Boston Globe has cited anonymous sources that Hefner sexually assaulted them, and boasted of his personal influence on Senate business.
