  • Peter has been a substitute jazz host at New England Public Madio since 1998. He combines his love of music with a love of words, and is also Editor at Large at Merriam-Webster, where he has written definitions for many of Merriam-Webster’s dictionaries, is active as a blogger, podcaster, and speaker on language, and has served as pronouncer for spelling bees worldwide. He was named among TIME's 140 Best Twitter Feeds of 2013. Peter attended the University of Paris and earned his M.A. in French Literature at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. He is also a freelance musician.
  • Bex started her broadcast career at WMUA while an undergrad at UMass Amherst and wore many hats: disc jockey, public affairs director and station manager. While working at a multitude of record stores in the Amherst/Northampton area, she migrated over to commercial radio – hosting her own Sunday morning show Jazz, Taylormade for 7 years on WRNX. She joined NEPM in 2001.
  • Vanessa has overseen marketing and events at NEPR, now NEPM, since 2008. She is also the co-producer of Valley Voices Story Slam and host of the Valley Voices podcast and radio show. Before she moved back to western Massachusetts to work at her hometown public radio station, Vanessa spent time working in the fashion industry in New York City, and in non-profits and public media in Boston. She lives with her family in Gill, MA.
  • Cara Foster is the Assistant Operations Supervisor.
  • Katie is the director of on-air marketing for radio. This means she oversees how NEPM radio promotes itself, and produces the spots you hear about all the development activities at the station. Katie has been working in radio in the Valley for 30 years. She started while in college at Smith College at WOZQ 91.9 FM, and has worked at many commercial stations in the area, both on-air and organizing promotions. She hosts a weekly Blues show at WMUA, 91.1 FM out of UMass Amherst on Thursday afternoons.
  • Sarah Whites-Koditschek is a Little Rock-based reporter for Arkansas Public Media covering education, healthcare, state politics, and criminal justice issues. Formerly she worked as a reporter and producer for WHYY in Philadelphia, and was an intern and editorial assistant for Morning Edition at National Public Radio in Los Angeles and Washington D.C.
  • Arnie Seipel is the Deputy Washington Editor for NPR. He oversees daily news coverage of politics and the inner workings of the federal government. Prior to this role, he edited politics coverage for seven years, leading NPR's reporting on the 2016, 2018 and 2020 elections. In between campaigns, Seipel edited coverage of Congress and the White House, and he coordinated coverage of major events including State of the Union addresses, Supreme Court confirmations and congressional hearings.
