Valley businesses collaborate to create a glittering good time for area families at this month’s Sparkle Party in Easthampton.

On Saturday, January 28, from 2-4pm, Pioneer Valley kids ages 10 and under and their caregivers are invited to experience a free celebration of all things dazzling and fun that several area small businesses have to offer. Held at Art In Motion dance studio in the Keystone Building in Easthampton, the Sparkle Party will be a glittery, inclusive family gathering that combines movement, books, visual art, and creative expression.

“At this point in the winter, we parents of young kids are dying for something new and fun to do together,” says Sparkle Party organizer April Duso Igneri. “We’re excited to showcase the incredible artistic talents of these creative businesses that some families may not yet know about. And we can’t wait to let kids party together in their sparkly finest that day!”

Between 2pm and 4pm, families can visit several rooms at Art in Motion to participate in various FREE creative activities, staffed by Sparkle Party partners:

- Art in Motion, a dance school that creates powerful artists through dance education, will demonstrate and offer instruction for several dance routines.

- Art Always, an art school for artists of all ages in Florence, will have a glittery crown-making craft station set up.

- High Five Books, an inclusive kids’ bookstore sharing a family creativity space with Art Always, will read sparkly stories throughout the afternoon.

- Salon 180 East, an ultimate retreat for pampering in Easthampton, will offer shiny hair extensions.

Sparkle Party sponsors include:

- Downtown Becky Brown, a Northampton-area realtor with a commitment to the Valley’s community vitality.

- Local Burger, which dishes up good food fast, with locations in Northampton and Williamsburg.

- Mantis Graphics, which provides custom screenprinting based in Northampton.

Each business will have information available about their ongoing family offerings. Families are invited to drop in to the Sparkle Party throughout the afternoon and RSVP on Facebook as possible to ensure supply availability.
