Where Do We Go From Here? A Reproductive Justice Symposium
The Boston Women’s Fund (BWF) will host a symposium on the future of reproductive justice on April 22 at 10 a.m. at the Bruce C. Bolling Municipal Building in Roxbury. The timely discussion follows the recent legal and legislative attacks on abortion, including the U.S. Supreme Court decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization (2022) that overturned the right to legal abortion established by Roe v. Wade (1973). The event kicks off the foundation's celebration of 40 years of philanthropic work.
The day-long symposium will include a keynote address by Roxbury-native Shafia Monroe (often referred to as the “Queen Mother of the Midwifery Movement”), panels on the status of the reproductive justice movement and local grassroots organizing, a networking session, and a trauma-informed yoga and movement break. Space for the event is limited and requires the purchase of a sliding-scale ticket available online. Lunch and childcare will be provided.
