The Daily Hampshire Gazette is based in Northampton, Mass.

We kick off this week with many questions surfacingat The Daily Hampshire Gazette, based in Northampton. Its former executive editor says he was fired for speaking out for higher pay for female journalists, but a number of his former employees are questioning his commitment to the issue.

Meanwhile, Massachusetts gaming regulatorsare looking into a settlement paid by casino mogul Steve Wynn to a woman over sexual misconduct claims. Wynn was awarded the license for the only resort casino in eastern Massachusetts, which is currently under construction.

In Connecticut, where the state is struggling with financial issues, Governor Dannel Malloy is looking for new ways to raise funds for transportation projects. He's floating the idea of bringing back tolls to the state's highways -- and he's also not running for re-election this year, either.

We wrap up by talking about the humble origins of the New England Patriots, as they get set to take on the Philadelphia Eagles in Sunday's Super Bowl. Did you know the Patriots once held training camp at UMass in Amherst?
