The Boston Bruins and Boston Celtics will keep their home, the TD Garden, plenty busy over the next few days with second-round playoff action.
The Bruins and Tampa Bay Lightning continue their second-round NHL Eastern Conference playoff series Wednesday night, with the third game of their best-of-seven series. The teams split the first two games of the series in Tampa, with the Bruins winning 6-2 on Saturday, and the Lightning returning the favor 4-2 on Monday.
This playoff season, Boston's offense has been paced by the line of Brad Marchand, David Pasternak and Patrice Bergeron. The trio has combined for 12 goals and 33 assists. Face-off Tuesday night is just past 7 p.m., and Game 4 will take place in Boston on Friday.
Counting the regular season, the Bruins have fared well against Tampa -- winning 4 of 6 games.
As for the Celtics, they will take on the Philadelphia 76ers play game two of their NBA Eastern Conference Semifinal series Thursday night. Boston looking to carry their momentum from Game 1 into the second game.
The banged up Celtics had little trouble with the Sixers in the first game, winning 117-101. Rookie Jayson Tatum scored a career-high 28 -- giving him three straight 20 point playoff games. He's the first Celtics rookie to do that since Larry Bird in 1980.
Boston is going through the playoffs without two stars -- Gordon Hayward and Kyrie Irving -- both who are out for the season due to injury. And they also missed Jaylen Brown in Game 1, who was sidelined with a hamstring issue.
The series shifts to Philadelphia for Game 3 on Saturday.
