Global supply chain issues hit hard at home

Months of product delays to western New England are the result of a shipping gridlock keeping cargo in containers that are halted on the way to America. It has a trickle down effect on businesses, big and small.

For example, a Vermont brewery has had no choice but to raise the prices of its beers due the supply chain challenges of getting the material it needs for cans to hold its product. One of the owners tells And Another Thing how unsure he is about whether he can stay in business.

The owner of a Massachusetts décor company tells And Another Thing how damaging worldwide shipping delays have been for that business — one of the largest in its field.

The owner of a construction company, who was not working when contacted, explained how the high cost of fuel and difficulty obtaining supplies made it more affordable not to take on new projects at the moment.
