Restorative Contact for Couples

Restorative Contact for Couples

This Valentine’s Day, give the most precious gift of all: your loving attention and calm presence.

In this heart-opening two-hour Restorative Contact workshop, you and your partner will be gently guided through a mindful touch practice that nurtures connection, trust, and intimacy. We will work slowly, with care and respect for our body as well as our partner's, as we learn to listen through the skin. Using light compression, we’ll discover new points of connection, finding places to rest, breathe, and relax together. Touch has profound effects on emotional, physical, and cognitive wellbeing, increasing the “happy hormones” dopamine and serotonin, as well as oxytocin, the “love hormone” that deepens bonds.

This workshop is non-sexual and open to all couples—romantic or platonic—seeking to deepen their connection through physical touch and mindful attention. It is accessible to students who can be on the ground for extended periods of time, however, many adaptations can be offered and the practice uses supportive props for comfort. No prior movement or meditation required. If you have questions about whether this practice is right for you, please reach out to Gabrielle at info@restorativecontact.com.

Testimonials:

“My husband and I walked away from this experience feeling joyful, connected and calm. 10/10!” - Mary

“The exercises were playful, vulnerable and connecting in a way that left us both feeling closer to one another. We left the session with a feeling of fullness and love for one another. Highly recommend!” - Valerie

“The name says it all: "restorative contact". It's an exercise in listening and feeling. My wife and I are not really the sorts to engage in this sort of activity, but we both felt extraordinarily calm and at peace after the session.” - Balazs

*A note regarding accessibility to all Sanctuary offerings: We have a range of scholarship options available. If the cost of participating is prohibitive, please email us at studio@yoga-sanctuary.com to learn more.
