Get ready for an unforgettable summer of free live music in the heart of downtown Northampton! The City of Northampton and Northampton Brewery are excited to present the return of Bands on Brewster, the beloved outdoor concert series set in Brewster Court—the walkway connecting the E.J. Gare Parking Garage to the Northampton Brewery.

The 2025 season kicks off Thursday, June 5, and continues every Thursday evening through June, July, and August. The shows start at 6:00 p.m. and end at 8:00 p.m. Perfect for post-work or post-dinner plans, this series features dynamic performances from local and regional talent, energizing the heart of downtown with community and creativity.

Puzzling Adventures are a cross between a scavenger hunt, an adventure race, and an informative self-guided walking tour. Each adventure consists of a series of locations that you are guided to where you are required to answer a question or solve a puzzle to receive your next instruction. Compete as a group, individually or create multiple teams and race each other. Almost all of our adventures are designed to be wheelchair and stroller friendly and all are carefully crafted to be entertaining and informative with something to appeal to all ages. Complete the adventure as quickly as possible to win first place or take your time and enjoy the journey. Price is per team, not per person. Groups can be any size, but small groups are recommended for the best experience.

The Norman Rockwell Museum is honored to present a rare series of early twentieth century lighting advertisements by Norman Rockwell and fellow Golden Age illustrators Maxfield Parrish, N.C. Wyeth, Dean Cornwell, Stanley Arthurs, Worth Brehm, and Charles Chambers created for Edison Mazda Lamps, a division of the General Electric Company. These luminous, richly painted works were widely circulated in published advertisements through the 1920s and are on loan to the Museum for the first time through the generosity of GE Aerospace.

Local transgender artist Jacob Clayton's black and white photo series Paradise City POV focuses on the intangible imprint that the glaring public display of acceptance in Northampton, Massachusetts, will have on those navigating a difficult path in life.

Debuting during Arts Night Out in the Emerging Artist Showcase from August 2 through August 29, 2025, at the Barn Door Gallery – 33 Hawley Street, Northampton. The opening reception is Friday, August 8 from 5 to 8 PM. Artist talk at 7PM. Admission is free.

Birds have lured Zach Adams on adventures in varied ecosystems throughout New England, across the United States, and even abroad. He has trudged through alder swamps, trotted through bogs, and canoed oxbows of the Housatonic River. Throughout his career in conservation— working with National Audubon, Mass Audubon, and Northwest Connecticut Land Conservancy, and now Trout Unlimited— Zach’s knowledge and enthusiasm have helped hundreds of people connect with birds.

His debut book, published this June, is a comprehensive guide to the birds of New England. Join us as he talks about the making of the book, his experiences as a local birder, helpful tips on all aspects of birding, and more!

Vermont's oldest agricultural fair will celebrate its 179th season with midway rides for the whole family, Freestyle FMX Show, Extreme Raptors birds of prey show, live music, livestock events, Pirate Man Dan, Children's Tent activities, a maple sugar house, milking parlor, chainsaw carving, demonstrations, favorite fair food and more.

• Thursday - Farm Tractor Pull (10am), Green Mountain Wrestling (7pm)

Solo art show by Massachusetts-based artist Alanna Saunders, showcasing original paintings and prints. Her light-filled landscapes capture the serenity of various places in New England, and her portraiture is dominated by vibrant colors. "When you take away the ability to process skin tone realistically, it allows us to admire the subject's features without being distracted by whatever subconscious biases we might have," Saunders, age 20, says. "I want my art to remind people that color is merely one example of beauty, not the definition of it."
