Get ready for some twang with a twist! Honkytonk Queer Tones (Emmett Troxel, Kim Hoff, and Jess Martin) reimagine classic country hits through a queer and political lens—songs you’ll know, delivered with defiance, joy, and plenty of glitter. Country music may have a history of shutting folks out, but we’re cracking the door wide open and dancing right through it. Proudly waving the queer flag in a space that isn’t always welcoming, Honkytonk Queer Tones turn familiar tunes into bold anthems of love, resistance, and fun. Come stomp, sing, and holler along—yee-haw and queer joy guaranteed!

Join CitySpace for a tour of the second floor of Old Town Hall. Learn about the history of the historic municipal and learn about its current and upcoming restoration projects. While you are at Old Town Hall check out the gallery exhibitions at the Elusie and ECA galleries, CitySpace Bluegrass and the tiny pop-up market.

The tour is free and open to the public.

In 2025, CitySpace is hosting a series of mini Pop-Up Markets on the first Saturday of the month from 4-7PM during CitySpace Bluegrass and Art Walk Easthampton.

Nosotros: A Celebration of Latin & Hispanic Culture is a vibrant group exhibition honoring the rich diversity, heritage, and creative expression of Latin and Hispanic artists. “Nosotros”, meaning “we” or “us” in Spanish, highlights the collective strength of artists whose voices and stories are all deeply rooted in their traditions, while also showcasing the individuality and unique perspectives that lie within a culture. Featured Artists: Alberto Cavazos, Catalina McKay, Gabrielle McKay, Terese Newman, Estela Ramos

Each of us has a story, our own personal history and collection of experiences that make us who we are. Storytelling is a natural part of collective learning. Around kitchen tables, at cookouts and family gatherings, after church, people gather and tell stories of wisdom of generations. Retelling of personal history— the mundane and the profound— is our path to liberation.

Tell Her This Community Storytelling Events bring an audience's stories and experiences to life. Musician and Podcaster, Rochelle Rice, will help participants present their personal stories, in the honest and heartfelt conversational style of Tell Her This Podcast. Stories will be presented live and accompanied by live music.

Now the fantasy comes to life, with Being Petty – the Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers Experience.

Being Petty is more than just the average cover or tribute band. Audiences are awestruck by the flawless recreation of the look (accurate wardrobe, wigs and accessories), sound (authentic guitars, amps and drums) and feel of the original band.

At every show, during every song, Being Petty is committed to respecting the fans, and honoring the musical and cultural legacy of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers.

Trad is the hilarious and poignant Irish play about a son, 100-year-old Thomas, and his even older Da, who set off on a quest to find the son that Thomas thinks he fathered 70 years ago. After all that time on earth, they want to know if the family line will survive. An award-winning comedy by Mark Doherty that keeps you laughing all the way to an unexpected finale.

Trad is being presented in the Barn.

Directed by Alison Weller, the production features Scenic and Lighting Design by James P. Byrne and Costume Design by Robin McLaughlin. Holly Erin McCarthy serves as the Production Stage Manager.

Macklin Devine’s (Archibald Avery) and Seton Brown’s (Prelude to a Kiss) return to the Cape Rep stage in the roles of a 100-year-old son, Thomas, and his even more geriatric father. Ian Hamilton (Sunday in the Park) rounds out the cast as Sal and Father Rice.

The Soggy Po Boys, native to New England, have quickly become an institution. They are spreading the good news of New Orleans music across the northeast and beyond, playing at concert halls and street corners; music festivals and burlesque festivals; bars and libraries; wherever the party requires. Part of the beauty of New Orleans music is that it's celebrated and appreciated wherever it goes, from the street to the theater.

HUT Season 14: An Evening of Movement, Words & Sound
The School for Contemporary Dance & Thought (SCDT) is thrilled to announce the next installment of HUT, an interdisciplinary performance series now in its 14th season. Co-curated by movement artist Jennifer Polins, sound artist Jake Meginsky, and writer Catherine Corbett Bresner, HUT brings together acclaimed artists working at the cutting edge of movement, words, and sound to create an evening of unexpected juxtapositions and radical experimentation.

HUT is known for offering audiences a rare opportunity to encounter new artistic forms side by side.For 14 seasons, HUT has been a hub for experimentation in Western Massachusetts, presenting both internationally acclaimed artists and local innovators. Each evening features three artists working in movement, sound, and words, giving audiences a chance to experience performances they may never have encountered otherwise. By bridging disciplines and communities, HUT reimagines what live performance can be and who it can reach.

MOVEMENT

Jesse Zaritt – An acclaimed choreographer and faculty member at Bennington College’s BFA Dance Lab, Zaritt explores drawing as dancing, weaving together the contemplative and resistive power of movement as a force for social transformation. His ongoing collaborations include work with legendary choreographer Sara Shelton Mann.
Pamela Pietro – A dancer and educator with an international career, Pietro is Chair and Arts Professor at NYU Tisch Dance. Her work spans Asia, Europe, and the U.S., including collaborations with Donna Uchizono, Tendayi Kuumba, Annie-B Parson, and Jesse Zaritt.

WORDS

CAConrad – Iconic poet and ritualist, author of Listen to the Golden Boomerang Return (Wave Books / UK Penguin 2024). Winner of the Ruth Lilly Poetry Prize, PEN Award, Creative Capital Grant, and Lambda Literary Award, their work spans books, sculpture, and international exhibitions, blending (Soma)tic rituals with radical poetics.

SOUND

Andrea Pensado – A groundbreaking sound artist and performer who blends voice, electronics, and noise into densely layered, visceral soundscapes. Pensado’s practice merges the intuitive and the rational, pushing the limits of sonic experimentation.

Puuluup
Presented by CitySpace and Secret Planet Live

NEO-ZOMBIE ESTONIAN POST-FOLK FROM THE TREES

Palindromes are cool, no matter what language they’re in.

The word “Puuluup” comes from the Estonian word for tree or wood: ‘puu’, and ‘luup’ is a fortuitous re-spelling of the English word ‘loop’. The beautifully weird Estonian duo of Ramo Teder and Marko Veisson do a lot of looping. They’re exponents of a Neo-folk talharpa revival with a touch of surrealism and happy absurdity. Talharpa — that four-stringed Baltic bowed lyre that looks so similar to the Ethiopian krar — has a traditional susurrus sound that, combined with effects and loops, creates a fascinating backdrop for their songs.

The lyrics and melodies are a mixture of musical memories and improvisation, and the inspiration is drawn from Finnish jouhikko repertoire, Sahel blues, chastushkas and other elements from musical traditions around the world — Marko Veisson is an anthropologist who did extensive field work in West Africa. All kinds of random sources of inspiration are similarly important – unexpected excerpts from Polish TV series, old Estonian punk, and sweetbread from Vormsi Island.
