Community Calendar

The Cathedral of St. Michael the Archangel invites you to its annual service of Lessons and Carols. This anticipatory service will offer a time of reflection and prayer in anticipation of the Birth of Jesus Christ.
The cathedral choir will be accompanied by organ, as well as a string quartet of accomplished area musicians.

Each service includes an uplifting talk that touches on real-life experiences—like relationships, resilience, and personal growth—offering down-to-earth reflections to help you navigate life with clarity, compassion, and a sense of connection.

The healing portion of the service begins with a peaceful, guided meditation accompanied by live harp music, creating a calm and supportive space. Those who wish may then receive gentle, hands-on energy healing from certified Spiritualist healers while seated.

The service concludes with a demonstration of mediumship from the podium, where the medium shares messages from loved ones in spirit. These brief, heartfelt messages are intended to provide evidence of the continuity of life and offer comfort, healing, and connection.

You’re invited to a sparkling community interfaith holiday celebration for families with beloved local authors Jane Yolen and Heidi E.Y. Stemple!

On December 14, 4:30-5:30pm, readers are invited to BOMBYX Center for Arts & Equity to listen to Little Roots perform and hear Jane and Heidi read their picture book WE CELEBRATE THE LIGHT.

High Five Books will have all of Jane and Heidi’s books for sale, and families are welcome to bring their own copies for signing.
