Delta Variant - Wednesday July 7

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, cases of the coronavirus Delta variant has been reported in all 50 states. Dara Kennedy and Maya Shwayder will talk with Dr. Matilde Castiel, Commissioner of Health and Human Services for the city of Worcester about the variant gaining momentum in Massachusetts.

Although Worcester has a 60 percent vaccination rate, the numbers are considerably lower among Black and Latinx communities. Jessica Collins, Executive Director of the Public Health Institute of Western Massachusetts, explains how Black and Latinx communities are more impacted.

You'll also hear from state senator Becca Rausch. She is one of three co-authors of the Community Immunity Act, a bill that would address future health equity outcomes.
