Connecting Point Segment Chosen for PBS Newshour’s CANVAS Series

CANVAS, PBS Newshour’s online arts blog, features a Connecting Point segment about the work of Imo Imeh, an art professor at Westfield State University. Imeh had been working on his series of larger-than-life paintings of black men represented as angelic beings, before the death of George Floyd and before the protests. Now, Imeh’s painting “Lead Me to Rest” holds a new meaning. The segment was produced by Connecting Point’s Ross Lippman.

NYC Jazz Musicians Perform for Vermont Jazz Center

Three of New York’s finest jazz musicians come together to build a fire of creativity in support of the Vermont Jazz Center on Friday, Aug. 14 at 7 p.m. Two Summer Jazz Workshop faculty members, pianist Helen Sung and bassist Marcus McLaurine, will be joined by special guest saxophonist, Steve Wilson. The three will perform a set of solos, duos and trios that will be live streamed from Sung’s home studio.

Members of the Paradise City Dragon Boat Team find comfort, strength, and community through the sport of Dragon Boat Racing and connect through their shared struggle.
