Join Eagle Eye Institute for our 24th annual Step Up for Equity in Nature Walk and Celebration on Saturday, October 24th at Holyoke's Ashley Reservoir!

Who: Eagle Eye Institute offers learning programs and opportunities for all youth to experience well-being, belonging, and empowerment through a relationship with nature.

What: Meet us on Saturday, October 24th at 10 AM for a walk along the Ashley Reservoir trails with Eagle Eye community members! Our program will include a silent meditation hike, learning in nature, and options for guided walks (1.25 miles, 2.2 miles, and 3.2 miles). Then join us at 12 PM for our Eagle Eye celebration, which will feature dancing with DJ Professor Pat, delicious food, and more. You’re welcome for either/both portions of the day!

Where: Ashley Reservoir at 250 Whitney Avenue, Holyoke. Look for signs directing you to our meeting spot. Additional info on directions, including a free shuttle option, is included in the link sent after registration.

Why: We’re gathering to celebrate our Eagle Eye community, and we're celebrating 35 years of our Learn About Forests program! With your help, we will raise $65,000 so we can continue to offer high-quality programs in nature for all youth. The first $30,000 of donations will be matched 1:1, meaning you have the opportunity to double your impact!

Get ready to rock out with music from Trailer Trash while helping raise critical funds to support hospice patients in need! Located in a peaceful, custom-built home in Chicopee, Harmony House is a nonprofit providing a loving home and compassionate care for people with terminal illnesses in need. We prioritize serving those who are isolated or unable to afford quality end-of-life care elsewhere, giving them comfort, companionship, and dignity during life's final chapter and allowing their loved ones to step out of the caregiver role and focus on cherishing their remaining time together. Because medical care is provided by outside hospice workers, we don’t receive any insurance or government reimbursement and residents are never billed. It's only through the support of our community that we can continue providing this one-on-one care and companionship in a place they truly feel at home and can live their final days to the fullest. On Saturday, November 14th, the Consortium invites the community to enjoy an evening of laughter and sustain community support at Comedy & Community Impact: An Evening Supporting the Future of the Consortium!

This FUNdraiser will bring together community members, businesses, partners, and supporters to invest
in the Consortium’s newly established Endowment Fund and its commitment to building sustainable
resources for the future.

Through its programs, the Consortium provides resources and supports spanning health and wellness,
disability services, family and community support, self-advocacy, recovery resources, youth development,
healing from interpersonal violence and other community-based initiatives. The Endowment Fund
strengthens the long-term sustainability of this work and the Consortium’s ability to respond to evolving
community needs.

Western Massachusetts comedian and 2026 BusinessWest Difference Maker Jess Miller will host and
perform alongside comedians Chris Tabb and Peaches Rodriguez. Miller is known throughout the
region for combining comedy with community impact and using her platform to support charitable
causes. Together, Jess Miller, Chris Tabb, and Peaches Rodriguez will provide the laughter while the
evening’s larger purpose remains centered on helping build sustainable resources for continued
community impact.

PLAY IT FORWARD!

Registration is open for the 3rd annual Friends of the Jones Libraries Pickleball Tournament,
scheduled for November 15, 2026.

The Friends of the Jones Libraries hopes to channel local pickleball passion for a good cause,
in partnership with TruNorthBank and 23 additional sponsors. The proceeds of the tournament
will provide support for the programming and services of the Jones Library and its branches.

The tournament, played round-robin style, will be held indoors at the Hatfield Rally House, 255
West Street, North Hatfield. The tournament offers competition for players intermediate
through advanced, ages 18 and older.

This is a recreational-friendly tournament, open to anyone 18 years or older, following USA Pickleball Rules. The Tournament is a round-robin with up to 32 players per Session.
In each Session, there will be a 1st Place Prize Winner and a 2nd Place Prize Winner. Your player number will be drawn when you arrive to play. There are also free raffle prizes. Food and beverages will be provided.
With 32 players, the games will be held on 8 indoor courts. Everyone will play a minimum of 7 rounds, each round with a different partner. You will have 12 minutes to play a game to 11 points (or more, if necessary, to win by two points). Once time is called, whichever side is ahead is the winner.

Give household items you no longer need a new home and discover something useful to take home with you! Join us at the library for a free community swap where neighbors can donate gently used household items and browse what others have shared. It's a fun way to reduce waste, save money, and connect with the community. No purchase necessary. Everyone is welcome.
